This past week the Michigan Industrial Technology Education Society recognized the Alcona High School Woodworking Program as a 2026 MITES Program of Quality, highlighting the program’s excellence in industrial technology education and its lasting impact on students. Led by Woodworking Teacher Mr. Tim Campbell, the program continues a strong tradition of success at Alcona. The former woodworking teacher at Alcona Mr. Chuck Boyer also earned this distinguished honor for Lake City High School, further highlighting the success of our program from these quality educators.

Mr. Campbell’s woodworking program provides students with valuable hands-on learning experiences that emphasize craftsmanship, creativity, and real-world skill development. Through projects and practical application, students gain experience that prepares them for careers in the skilled trades and other technical fields. His dedication to student growth and career readiness continues to strengthen opportunities for past, present, and future Alcona students while fostering pride in the district’s industrial arts tradition.
Congratulations, Mr. Campbell and Mr. Boyer!
