Alcona Middle/High School Families,

The school year is moving along quickly! We are halfway through the first semester and progress reports were sent home last week. If you did not receive one for your student, please contact the office. Here are some updates and important information:

Digital Safety for Students: Social media and other digital modes of communication can pose a variety of challenges for students and families. A great resource for understanding and navigating technology is "Raising Digitally Responsible Youth – A Parent's Guide". The school will also host two OK2Say presentations by Michigan State Police in upcoming months. More information will be shared when it is available.

Important Upcoming Dates:

Nov. 20 - Picture retakes
Nov. 22 - ½ day for students
Nov. 23 - No school
Nov. 24 - No school

Lost and Found: We have collected a substantial number of student items in our lost and found. If your student is missing something, please take a look at the photos: Lost and Found 11-17-23. Any unclaimed items will be donated if not claimed by Dec 1.

Student Handbook: The 23/24 Student and Family Handbook is available. If you would like a printed copy, please contact the office.

Student Parking Passes: All students that will be parking at the school will need to obtain a parking pass. There is no cost for the passes. Students can pick up a Parking Pass Form from the main office.

Behavioral Health: Alcona MS/HS continues to offer counseling services to students during the school day. These services can help students struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, or other concerns. If you are interested in learning more or signing up for services, please complete the Behavioral Health Referral Form or call the office.

We are looking forward to a great year! Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns!
