Reminder, please join us for the 2026 Hometown Heroes on Friday, September 18th at the ACS Football Stadium as we proudly celebrate our community’s Veterans, Law Enforcement, Firefighters, and EMS/EMT personnel. The evening will begin with registration and check-in at 3:30pm, followed by a special tribute and ceremony at 4:00pm honoring those who serve and protect our community. The celebration continues into the night as we cheer on the Tigers with a 7:00pm football kickoff against Hillman. 📚 The Alcona County Library has a great opportunity for students and Alcona families! The Library is partnering with ceramic artist Helen Hierta to create a 7-foot-tall, literary-inspired totem sculpture for the Reading Garden and Book Trail behind the Harrisville Branch of the Library. Participants will work with Helen to design and create a piece of the sculpture through upcoming workshops on September 16 and October 13. Each entry is $150 and supports the Friends of the Alcona County Library. Consider participating, sponsoring an entry, or sharing this opportunity with others! This is not an ACS sponsored event.
