Alcona lernt Deutsch ! Yes, Alcona learns German. Throwback to the start of the school year, when our German students celebrated the new school year with a sweet German tradition, the “Schultüte.” The German Schultüte, or “school cone,” is a beloved tradition that marks the first day of school for children in Germany. This colorful, cone-shaped container is filled with sweets, school supplies, and other treats, symbolizing excitement and the joy of learning. On this special day, parents and guardians present the Schultüte to their children as a way to highlight the importance of education. In German culture this colorful cone serves as a memorable rite of passage, fostering a sense of anticipation and enthusiasm for the school year ahead.

Our Alcona students did a fantastic job crafting their own Schultüte and may have found a little surprise within to ease their transition to the new school year as well.
