Alcona high school is offering an opportunity for all 9th-12th grade students to take the SAT (12th) or PSAT (9-11th) tests that were not given last year due to the shutdown. Due to new guidelines from the state, we will now be able to acommodate 500 spectators outside and 200 fans inside. We allow for this new flexibility starting tomorrow(10/7). Participants will continue to have two tickets reserved for guests and we will sell the remaining tickets at the ticket booth/table. Today was XC league finals. HS: Carter Upper 2nd team, Janae Kierzek 2nd team, Karen Sharboneau 1st team, Sara Decker 1st team. MS: Darren Boyat 7th, & Cole Upper was 1st in the league! We are proud of their individual accomplishments this season. Our next meet is tomorrow @Tawas
Today, the 6th graders will be coming home with Starbase permission slips. All forms need to be returned before Friday for students to attend the program. Starbase will be coming to Alcona this year!

Ms. Pendergrass will be distributing band envelopes/instruments at the meal Grab N' Go if you have not claimed yours already. Follow the meal pick-up traffic and you will see the band room back doors open. These materials must be claimed by Wednesday this week.

We have a free meal “GRAB & GO” today, Monday, October 5 in the MS parking lot from 4pm-6pm. Meals are free and available for all children age 18 and younger. “Grab & Go’s” during the school year are designed for students working from home or out of school.

Good morning.
A recent executive order may allow the district to incorporate more spectators at home events. We are still waiting for clarification from the MHSAA so no changes will go into effect until at the earliest, 10/9. Until then we will continue to allow two guests per participant. Entry to the event will require a contact tracing form upon arrival and all attendees must abide by the spectator expectations.
