Unfortunately, a scheduled repair of 60-plus-year-old broken piping under the middle/high has not gone as expected. The district must bring in additional experts and cannot finish the work until late in the first week of January. Due to not having running water, school is closed the entire first week of January. We hope to resume school on the 8th. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Today our 5th year Early College students met for a breakfast and scholarship workshop! Thank you to Mr. Thomas for helping our students practice their culinary skills before diving into scholarships with Ms. Cordes. 5th year EC students are Alcona High School students that attend college classes full-time. Students apply for the EC program in 10th grade. The application period will be opening soon! Watch for more information in January.
Alcona Junior Honor Society members hosted an Ugly Sweater Contest for middle/high school staff this week! Members voted at their holiday party and the winners were Mr. Terpstra (1st place with his moose sweater), Ms. Boboltz (2nd place with her ice skating polar bear), and Mr. McClure (3rd place with his Ohio State sweater).
