Save the date! The Alcona Junior Honor Society is hosting a Middle School Holiday Dance on Friday, December 15th. Wear your Ugly Sweater! Students attending will stay after school and get picked up at 5pm outside the Middle School entrance. Cost to attend the dance is $5 and concessions are sold separately. This past Saturday was a blast at the Northern Lights Parade in downtown Oscoda! This is the 5th year the Alcona Marching Band has teamed up with the Oscoda Marching Band and led the annual lighted parade through the town! The bands, directed by Karen Lopez (Oscoda) and Emma Hilton (Alcona), performed "Christmas Parade Sequence" arranged by Paul Lavender and Will Rapp. Always a highlight of the season!

Congratulations to Creative Writing students, who completed the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) challenge. Students wrote 61,772 words (approximately 226 pages) during the month of November.
