The Great Sunrise Side Paper Airplane Contest is taking place December 3rd at the Kalitta Aircraft Maintenance Facility in Oscoda. This is a great opportunity for students to put their engineering and aerodynamic skills to the test. And all participants get a free airplane flight! School is closed on November 7th due to power outage challenges. We expect school to resume on November 8th. Decisons on athletic events will be communicated tomorrow.

Carter and Cole Upper competed in the Cross Country State Finals this morning. Very proud of these athletes as they pushed through the windy weather! It’s been a great season and looking forward to what they bring next year.

NHS is hosting another Coffee for Veterans Event THIS SUNDAY November, 6th from 2-4pm in the high school auditorium. Share with friends, family and neighbors.
This month's theme: hunting! Wear camo and blaze orange, and bring a picture of your best hunt.
5th grade students are not only learning about how an ecosystem functions but also forest management and decision making. This week with the help of community partner Huron Pines, they chose a removal method and removed over an acre of invasive Autumn Olive from our school forest. The next step in this place based stewardship project is choosing native plants to replace them. Way to go student stewards!



8th grade mentors assisted the 4th grade students in their science investigation "What is causing the bobcats eyes to shine?" Through dissection students discovered a unique structure in a cows eyes that will help them to answer this question. Make sure to ask your 4th and 8th graders about their experience!
