At Alcona Schools, student safety is our top priority. That’s why we support the Ok2Say initiative, which encourages students to speak up when they see or hear something concerning. Whether it’s about a friend, a classmate, or themselves, it’s always Ok2Say. Together, we can create a safer, more supportive school community. To report a confidential tip about criminal activity or potential harm directed at our school, a classmate, or teacher, text 652729. #alconaschools #okay2say #studentsafety #tigerpride

We are excited to introduce our new Lost and Found system at Alcona Community Schools. Thanks to Ms. Ortiz and our high school life skills class, the process is now more organized, accessible, and community-focused. Each item will be tagged and photographed daily, creating a digital Lost and Found Closet that families can access anytime through a QR code. Items will be stored for 30 days before being donated to St. Vincent de Paul in Mikado to support local families. This system makes it easier for students and families to locate belongings, reduces classroom interruptions, and ensures unclaimed items go to good use.

Last month our 4th-12th grade students had a great time at the Alcona Summer Program! They made tie dye t-shirt creations, played games, visited Iargo Springs and Lumberman’s Monument, made some “welcome back” presents for our amazing Alcona teachers, and built birdhouses. Students also explored Dinosaur Gardens where they took a walk, played some mini-golf, and enjoyed a prehistoric picnic. #alconaschools #summerprogram #throwback
