Congratulations to Ethan, Claire, and Joe on being named students of the week! Students are nominated by school staff and selected based on their dedication and commitment to the eight traits of an Alcona graduate. #AlconaPride #TigerTuesday #StudentoftheWeek

Due to shipping delays, the shirts our PTO ordered for our elementary field day tomorrow will not be in. Students can wear something comfortable to participate for the events and we will have a class color event when the shirts arrive. Apologies for the change of plans!

Our 3rd grade elementary engineers completed their erosion restoration project last week. Through this place based stewardship project students read informational text about soil types and structure, studied soil types, built dam wall models, measured area and developed a solution to the erosion that occurred to our holding pond and nature trail. They worked so hard to complete this project for their community! Thanks to MISTEM, Werner Sand and Gravel and the NEMIGLSI network for their project support.

The results are in… the most school spirited snowplow winners are the Alcona Middle School 8th graders! Thank you to the Alcona County Road Commission for partnering with us for this activity! #TigerPride #SchoolSpirit #Classof2025

As we begin to finalize plans for our nature trail for student and community use, the district needs a five foot brush hog for maintenance purposes. If you happen to have a brush hog that you'd be willing to sell or donate(with a tax deduction letter), contact oconnord@alconaschools.net ir 989-736-6212. Thank you!

6th-11th grade students participated in a spring fun day today where they rotated between 12 different stations. One of our stations challenged each grade level to paint the most school spirited snow plow. A special thank you to the Alcona County Road Commission for partnering with us for this activity! Staff are voting on the most spirited snow plow and the winning grade will be announced Monday. Great job middle and high school students! #TigerPride #SchoolSpirt
