The district continues to receive guidance from the state in regards to athletics. Effective immediately, all athletes must wear masks at all times during indoor and outdoor athletics at all times. Coaches discussed this new requirement today with athletes.

District Health Department #2 will have a vaccination clinic on Friday, September 11. If you are interested in making an appointment, call 989-724-6757 ext. 1600 to make an appointment.

Attention all Middle School students interested in playing football. The season is ON and practice will begin on Tuesday September 8th. Time to be advised by Monday. High school students taking classes with Alcona teachers should plan on meeting with each of their teachers during their designated class periods on the first day of school, Tuesday, Sept. 8. Teachers will send Google Meet links via email or Brightspace. Check your email for more information including how to log into Brightspace and a daily schedule.

If you are a high school or middle school student taking online classes through Edgenuity, please check your email for an email from Edgenuity. This email will give you all of the information you will need to login and get started on your classes. The courses will open on September 8.

The cross country team had their first meet of the season today at Ogemaw Heights High School. They did very well as Sara Decker, Karen Sharboneau and Carter Upper received medals. Their next meet will be held Wednesday in Standish. Good luck Tigers!


With the news of football being reinstated, there will be an equipment pick up time tomorrow, Friday September 4th from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Please make plans to get this done if possible.

NOTICE: Tonight's online orientation for students using Edgenuity this fall has been cancelled. Students will receive an email from a virtual mentor on the first day of school with information about Edgenuity and an Online Learning Contract. Students may have already received an email from Edgenuity. All courses will begin on Sept. 8.
