At Alcona Schools, student safety is our top priority. That’s why we support the Ok2Say initiative, which encourages students to speak up when they see or hear something concerning. Whether it’s about a friend, a classmate, or themselves, it’s always Ok2Say. Together, we can create a safer, more supportive school community. To report a confidential tip about criminal activity or potential harm directed at our school, a classmate, or teacher, text 652729. #alconaschools #okay2say #studentsafety #tigerpride

Alcona lernt Deutsch ! Yes, Alcona learns German. Throwback to the start of the school year, when our German students celebrated the new school year with a sweet German tradition, the “Schultüte.” The German Schultüte, or “school cone,” is a beloved tradition that marks the first day of school for children in Germany. This colorful, cone-shaped container is filled with sweets, school supplies, and other treats, symbolizing excitement and the joy of learning. On this special day, parents and guardians present the Schultüte to their children as a way to highlight the importance of education. In German culture this colorful cone serves as a memorable rite of passage, fostering a sense of anticipation and enthusiasm for the school year ahead.
Our Alcona students did a fantastic job crafting their own Schultüte and may have found a little surprise within to ease their transition to the new school year as well. Pictured is Mrs. Wilson with her Schultüte (1994) and her students with their Schultüte (start of the school year 2025). #alconaschools #german

Throwback to our Elementary Summer Fun Program where students had a great time at Cedar Pan Mining in Alpena. Students found rocks, gems, and arrowheads! #alconaschools #throwback #summerfun
