Today juniors and seniors attended Alpena Community College’s Open House! Students were able to explore campus and tour programs ranging from welding, concrete technology, biology, criminal justice, nursing, and more! The 5th grade traveled to Hartwick Pines today to learn about life as a logger. The classes also gained more information on habitats and ecosystems as they walked the old growth forests.
Our Food Corps member Kayle Greis facilitated the "Great Apple Crunch" day by having staff and students collectively today! It's part of a celebration of National Farm to School Month. Thank you, Food Corps!

Reminder: Students are not permitted to transport any medication to and from the school grounds at any time. Students that need to carry emergency medications such as inhalers, epi-pens or other emergency medications must have form 5330 F1c (bit.ly/5330F1c) completed and filed with the school. Any other medications that students need to take at school must be given to the office or nurse and the Middle/High School form 5330 F1a (bit.ly/5330F1a) or Elementary form 5330 F1b (bit.ly/5330F1b) must be completed. #AlconaSchools

Yesterday Agriscience students and FFA members traveled to the Ogemaw County Fairgrounds for the Region VI FFA Decathlon. FFA Chapters from throughout the region competed in 10 different agriculture categories ranging from aquaculture, forestry, invasive species, veterinary science, plant/seed identification, and more.
