Alcona Community Schools are looking for bus drivers. Weekly hours range from 25-40 hours a week during the school year. Alcona 3rd grade student stewards have been busy all year raising a threatened lake sturgeon for release in the wild this spring. They have affectionately named him Hunter. Students have been learning about life cycles, cultural history and biology of this species along with feeding, weighing and maintaining a healthy ecosystem for our fish. ACS was named one of ten 2021 Education Excellence Award winners for our Alcona School’s Student-Community Nature Trail Project! The Education Excellence Awards are hosted by the SET SEG Foundation in partnership with the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB). Today the Alcona Community Schools Forest Advisory Team accepted the award and grant on behalf of the district. #TigerPride
