The Great Sunrise Side Paper Airplane Contest is taking place December 3rd at the Kalitta Aircraft Maintenance Facility in Oscoda. The Alcona Cross Country Team had another great day competing at the Northern Michigan Championship on Saturday, 10-22-22. Cole Upper (17:53), Carter Upper (18:05), and Ziggy Villalobos (21:26) all set personal records. Darren Boyat (21:04) and Alex Smith (23:30) also ran a great race. The Team will be competing in Regionals on Saturday, 10-29-22, at East Jordan.

We are one of only 25 classrooms in the state that participate in the sturgeon in the classroom program connecting students, MDNR, MSU Fisheries and Wildlife and this amazing natural resource. 4th grade students deepened their understanding the biological and human value of biodiversity at Besser Museum. Students got aboard commercial and research fisheries vessels, explored Native American and Michigan wildlife exhibits, visited the planetarium and even added to their fossil collections!
