The Alcona Cross Country Team is proud to announce Carter Upper and Sara Decker medaled at Regionals and qualified for States today. States are held at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, MI on November 6. Carter Upper and Katelynn Bravata both ran their personal best.




Tonight is the Alcona Bands and Choir Fall Concert! Performance starts @ 6:00 pm in the auditorium; students need to be here by 5:30 pm.

Alcona 3rd grade student stewards will be rearing and releasing a threatened Lake Sturgeon by collaborating with our partners: Sturgeon for Tomorrow, MiDNR, MSU, Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa, and the Northeast Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative network. Alcona finally has a Cross Country Course! Last Thursday we had a dual meet with Tawas to try out the new course. Of course, we picked a very rainy and windy day but it was still a great success.

The Alcona HS Cross Country Team competed in the Northern Michigan XC Championship today while the MS Team competed in the MHSAA Regionals. Cole Upper placed 10th earning a medal. All Alcona runners ran their personal best today. Great job Alcona!



The Michigan National Guard is hosting a COVID-19 testing event today, October 22nd, at the Alcona County Fairgrounds from 1 pm to 7 pm.

Our upcoming Band and Choir concert will be rescheduled for Friday 10/29. Students need to arrive at 5:30pm and the concert will start at 6:00pm. The order of performances is Choir, 6th, 7th, 8th, HS Band. Students are required to stay for the entire concert.

Congratulations to the Cross Country Team yesterday as they competed at the Hale HS Invitational. Bringing home medals were Cole Upper, Carter Upper, Darren Boyat and Sara Decker. Darren also had a PR. Home meet Thursday, against Tawas at 5:10 pm.
