The Alcona ROV and Robotics team went to the Uncrewed Triple Challenge (Inaugural drone competition featuring sea, air, and land segments) this morning. The students were able to set up a booth and share their hard work with Maj. General Rogers, Governor Whitmer, Department of Transportation Director Bradley Wieferich, and Alpena's Mayor Cindy Johnson. Great job, Alcona ROV and Robotics Team! #alconaschools #rov #robotics

We are thrilled to congratulate Alcona senior Sofia Gerow on receiving a First Generation Scholarship to attend Northern Michigan University! Sofia was awarded a four-year academic scholarship worth $15,000 per year, totaling $60,000! Her dream is to become a Health and Physical Education teacher, a goal inspired by Mr. Franklin, our Health and PE teacher at Alcona Middle/High School. We are so proud of Sofia’s hard work and determination—what an incredible achievement! #alconaschools #tigerpride #congratulations

We are excited to share that Early College 5th year students Liberty Kimball, Emily Samp, Miah Schopfer, and Carter Upper are graduating with honors from Alpena Community College! This morning, we had the privilege of attending ACC’s Honors Reception, where these outstanding students were recognized for their academic excellence and presented with their awards for commencement. Their dedication and hard work has truly paid off, and we couldn’t be more proud. To graduate with honors students must earn an Associates Degree and have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Join us at ACC tonight at 7pm to see them and Zean Monnier, our first student to graduate with a Certificate in Utility Technology, walk across the stage to earn their college degree! #alconaschools #tigerpride #earlycollege
