Twelve athletes qualified for the state meet, the women finished tied for 4th, broke two school records, and the men brought home the first regional championship since 1972!! Yesterday, English in the Real World students put their philanthropic research into action by volunteering at Habitat for Humanity's ReStore. As part of their final unit, students are learning how to use their writing, researching, and speaking skills to give back to their community. In addition to the ReStore, they helped at the Lincoln Food Bank and are creating social media posts for Inspiration Alcona.

Alcona Track did not disappoint again tonight! In competition at Gladwin's Legends Meet, two school records were broken. The 4x100 M team of Jeremiah Bullis, Brandon Fogle, Karsen Gonyea, and Garrett Somers ran an impressive 44.25 seconds. The record was 45.52 seconds set only a few weeks prior! Great job, fellas! The second record broken was the 200M dash set by Jeremiah Bullis on May 3rd with a 22.75 second run. Tonight, that record was set by Garrett Somers with a time of 22.64 seconds. Keep up the great work!
