OK2SAY is a student safety program which allows students to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities directed at students, school employees, and schools. It uses a comprehensive communication system to facilitate tip sharing among students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and law enforcement officials about harmful behaviors that threaten to disrupt the learning environment. We are excited to share that our school will be hosting presentations on OK2SAY. Parents/guardians were emailed additional information. Please feel free to contact the elementary or middle/high school office for questions. #alconaschools #ok2say

🎓ACS Early College Spotlight: Today’s highlight features one of our current senior Early College students, Emily Samp. Emily is enrolled in the Industrial Technology Program at ACC. She enjoys taking classes in welding, CNC machining, and manufacturing. Emily is on the ACC Dean’s List and on their Skills USA Team, which is a chapter of the national organization that provides leadership and competition opportunities for America’s most highly skilled career and technical education students. Something unique about Emily is that she is a full-time college student, as well as a high school student. Typically Early College students are not enrolled full-time in college until their 5th year. Emily was proactive in planning ahead and taking college courses early; which will allow her to complete her associates degree next year through our Early College Program. Current ACS 10th graders can apply to EC by April 8th at: bit.ly/ACS-EC-App #alconaschools #earlycollege #applytoday

ACS Senior Scholarships are due tomorrow by noon! Only 75 days until graduation. You're in the home stretch, seniors! #alconaschools #classof2024

Time change reminder! #alconaschools #timechange #reminder

This week Alcona's biology students went to explore the Hammond Bay Biological Station. There, they learned about Great Lakes science and the many different professions that come together to successfully operate a research station. Such jobs include computer scientists, chemists, research biologists, data base managers, engineers, scuba divers, communication professionals, interns and so much more. The trip opened the door to learn about future job opportunities and allowed students to be part of, and contribute to, current biological research at Hammond Bay. #alconaschools #tigerpride

ACS is seeking a Master’s level school social work intern (MSW). Bachelors level candidates may also be considered based on experience.
