8th graders went to Negwegon State Park on April 25th to study wetland soils and plant/tree biodiversity. Students conducted vegetation surveys, identification, and statistical analysis of specific wetland habitats. Students also completed soil studies to better understand wetland soils and how they act as the kidneys of watersheds.

We need your help! The Alcona High School Knowledge Bowl Team will be doing a presentation with the traveling WBKB Knowledge Bowl Championship Trophy at the May 8th Board of Education Meeting. The last time the trophy was housed at our school was with the 1987 team. We are inviting the ACS 1987 KB Team to the BOE meeting to present our 2022-23 team with the trophy. We need help contacting some of the team members from 1987. If you were on the 1987 KB team and haven't been contacted yet, please reach out to KB Coach Helen-Ann Cordes at cordesh@alconaschools.net or 989-736-8534 x 4407. Thank you for helping us share this great opportunity to connect our past and present KB Teams! Today the 1987 Knowledge Bowl Coach, Mr. Baumgardner, stopped by the school to check out the trophy!
