Today our Early College students had the incredible opportunity to hear a career presentation from an Alcona High School alum, Dr. Jen Riegle.

Dr. Riegle shared her journey from Alcona to Bastyr University to her career as a Naturopathic Doctor; which focuses on whole-person healing and environmental and integrative medicine. Dr. Riegle also shared about the non-profit she co-founded that helps bring integrative medicine practitioners into communities impacted by disaster.

We are so grateful Dr. Riegle was able to return home and help inspire our next generation of Alcona graduates as they explore their own career paths. Thank you, Dr. Riegle! #alconaschools #tigerpride #alconaalumni #earlycollege #careerexploration

Through Alcona Community Schools’ Early College Program, students can start their path toward becoming a preschool teacher, teaching assistant, social worker, daycare provider, or even a childcare center director, all while still in high school! Thanks to our partnership with Bay Mills Community College, students can earn up to an associate degree at little to no cost, with certificate and degree programs available fully online. Last week, Ms. Fritz’s French 2 students joined Mr. Van Hine’s History Through Film class for a special game day, where they had the chance to play board games designed and created by the History Through Film students. It was a fun and collaborative experience that brought the two classes together for creativity, connection, and a little friendly competition. #alconaschools #tigerpride
