Congratulations to the Alcona High School Knowledge Bowl team on an incredible victory in their final regular season match! In a thrilling showdown against Rogers City, both teams ended regulation play tied at 165 points, forcing the competition into a sudden death round. With the pressure on, Alcona answered the first question correctly, securing a 175–165 win. This hard-fought victory showcased the teams hard work, dedication, and exceptional teamwork. Alcona has finished the regular season with a record of 4-1 and averaged 165 points per match. The team will not know if they make it to the final competition until the remaining schools finish their season. Team members are: Twyla Barton 9th, Brandon Stanley 10th, Leigha Belanger 10th, Emma Schroeder 11th-Captain, Ella Gehring 11th, Maddalyn Eby 11th, Isabella Laird 12th, and Lee Kozlow 12th. The annual Alcona Track and Field Flower and Plant sale is this Thursday and Friday from 4-7 pm. We will be set up near the track and high school parking lot. We will have hanging baskets, flower flats, and select veggies. The prices are the same as you would pay at Harger's (they donate profit to us). Great way to support our teams, get a great mother's day gift, and/or get very nice plants for your home. Cash and Checks are preferred! Spread the word. Let's sell out the trailer!

Alcona Yearbooks are on sale! The yearbook store will be open until Friday May 9th. If you want a customized yearbook you must order by Friday. A very successful NHS Coffee for Veterans today! The Alcona County Veterans Affairs Committee presented us with a plaque in honor of our service this year, WWII veteran David Samuel received a Quilt of Valor from Bonnie Baker, and the FFA Sugar Shack was full!
