Interested in a career in Early Childhood Education? According to the MSU Community Evaluation Program, our community is considered a childcare desert. Through Alcona Community Schools’ Early College Program, students can start their path toward becoming a preschool teacher, teaching assistant, social worker, daycare provider, or even a childcare center director, all while still in high school! Thanks to our partnership with Bay Mills Community College, students can earn up to an associate degree at little to no cost, with certificate and degree programs available fully online. All ACS families are invited to the Elementary School tomorrow (March 18th) from 8am-10am for a FREE hot breakfast for anyone in need. The Red Fork of Greenbush is on-site preparing fresh, hot food for the community. Please share this information with anyone who may need a warm meal during this storm.

This summer Close Up students will be taking a trip to Washington, D.C. for a hands-on learning experience to explore government by visiting monuments, museums, and Capitol Hill, taking part in discussions and debates, and more. To help fund their trip they are doing a can and bottle drive. If you have cans/bottles to donate please drop them off in the fenced area outside CLAW Academy; which is located at the entrance to our Transportation Department. Thank you! #alconaschools #closeup
