Our 4th grade students experienced energy transfer by building ROV's at the NOAA Maritime Heritage Center's maker space last week. They have been studying energy transfer and types in the classroom. They also connected their Marine Debris studies to our lovely Lake Huron's natural resources by going out on the Lady Michigan glass bottom boat. They netted for microplastics, measured water temperature, and visited shipwrecks. The water was calm and visibility great!

Two Alcona Middle School students competed in a MHSAA Regional competition today. Amelia Sommer and Claire Somers made us proud. Amelia took 2nd in the 200M Hurdles and 4th 55M Hurdles. Claire finished 9th in the 100M and 13th in the 200M. Congrats and Go Tigers!!
Second graders from Ms. Misiak's class visited our local legislative, judicial, and executive branches of government today.
