Alcona's Golf Team recieved over 30K in golf equipment and attire from Drive Fore the Future, a foundation that partners with GolfTec and SkyTrak to make golf more accessible for schools of all different socioeconomic statuses. Dustin Yokom, the head coach, met with Ryan French today to surprise the team with their new gear. Yokom applied to the foundation to help further Alcona's golf program.
Mrs. Neuenfeldt's class kicked off long term partnership between Alcona Health Center, Alcona Community Schools and Huron Pines to restore the land that borders the school and health center. Students spent their time removing invasive Autumn Olive and Honeysuckle. This collaboration was initiated by student observation and was all student led. So proud of these change makers!

Congratulations to Kelsey Hansen for being selected as the Female Athlete of the Meet at the Alpena News Honor Roll Meet tonight. Kelsey earned 4 gold medals! Way to go!
