The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program gives teenagers and young adults everything they need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The program teaches how to get started with a business, working with parents and children, and key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips. *This is not a school sponsored program.

As the weather gets warmer remember to dress appropriately and follow the school dress code. Please find the dress code policy from our student handbook attached.

On Saturday, May 20th, the Alcona ROV teams competed in the Great Lakes Regional ROV Competition! They did a great job overall! The 8th graders took 3rd, followed by the 9th grade team in 4th place, and the 7th grade team took 7th place out of ten teams. This was their first year competing; we couldn’t be more proud of them!

7th-grade students worked in partnership with LLWC’s biologist Alleigh Pagels, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Huron Pines, MAEAP, NEMGLSI, MSUE, and Mi SeaGrant today. Their goals for today were collecting water quality, marine debris, and fish stock data on Badger Lake. Thanks to all the partners who make days like this possible for Alcona Students!

Congratulations to our Students of the Week! Students are nominated by school staff and selected based on their dedication and commitment to the eight traits of an Alcona graduate: Balanced, Collaborative Communicators, Ethical, Innovators, Knowledgeable, Questioners, Reflective, and Respectful Citizens. #AlconaPride #TigerTuesday #StudentoftheWeek
